Updates! 5-18-2014

I’ve been researching how I can make the old polls (or Battles!) active again. In the past we used several other tools to generate a poll and it was hosted elsewhere. While I could easily repair the old websites, these were no longer functional. I haven’t quite decided how I was going to make it work but it means some php/mysql/css may be involved. – Stay tuned

The polls are just one item of many I want to fix on the old DBZ Clan page. I also wanted to fix versions 2-4 as well but there are many more issues with those versions. Version 2 was version 1 with frames and an image map. Version 3 was more unique (Redesign by SilverEdge himself) and version 4 was modeled after ebay (in 1999-2002). I am not sure if SilverEdge wishes to revive SuperSaiyanC. SuperSaiyanC was intended to be more of a Dragon Ball Z fan page where as Dragon Ball Z Clan was a home page about our gaming clan which happened to have a Dragon Ball Z theme (we were 12-15 at the time). There were other websites we created such as Anti-Pokemon and Anti-Macintosh which will not be revived. Those were just pointless and stupid.

Another plan in the works is to create an area for nostalgia such as the old Toonami. Not quite sure what it will have besides my thoughts and some links to the old bumpers and such between shows.

I’ve been busy with my newborn daughter so some updates were kind of overdue. The LAN party on 3/22/2014 was freaking epic! Too bad everyone was not able to make it but we still had fun. The original Unreal Tournament was definitely a favorite and it better be after all the crap I had to deal with to make JailBreak and the other mods work. Problem is the clients can load more than 64 .u files in single player but not true for the dedicated server. Oh well it was still great. I might create a section dedicated to keeping the original UT running on modern(ish) systems like Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 and Debian GNU/Linux.

The Mike memorial is still coming so for now I might link it to the Dignity Memorial page.

I am also looking into a video solution so we can post some of the random stuff we do. Youtube may be an option but I am not sure at this point
